When we started decorating the nursery, I knew that I wanted to replace the existing light fixture. It is perfectly fine and we chose it when the house was built 6 years ago, but I wanted something nicer for the nursery. Originally I had thought about a chandelier but after looking at other fixtures, I picked out a nice Tiffany style one in a brushed nickel finish. I think it will look great with the style of the room and match the table and floor lamps. DH bought a dimmer switch as well so we can install that with the new light.
I ordered the fixture online and like anything else I’ve ever bought, assumed it would show up within a week or so. After not getting any shipment confirmation email, I contacted the company and turns out the light was backordered. It never said anything on their site, otherwise I wouldn’t have ordered from them! So I asked for them to cancel the order and refund my payment which they did. So then I looked for another option to order it - found it, ordered and waited. Same story with no shipment email after about a week so again I called and again was told the item was backordered. Seriously??? Repeat story on canceling and getting my refund. Back to the drawing board. If you can believe, the same situation happened with a 3rd company. By this point, I am losing my cool. So now I am waiting for the 3rd company to refund my payment. Why do these companies not make it clear on the site that it isn’t in stock??
I figured maybe this light just isn’t meant to be?? BUT….I am giving it one last shot. I found it on Amazon and figured their vendors are always reputable and it said in stock. We’ll see if the fourth attempt is successful. And I sure hope that I like it if and when it finally does show up!
